This past weekend we had a good amount of rain in LA, yay! We cherish a good rainy day around here so we headed out to explore and what better place than outdoors at Descanso Gardens?! For anyone raising kids in Los Angeles or any urban area, finding a blissful area full of trees, flowing water, nature and acres to let your kids run is pretty much a gold mine. Descanso is 160 acres of preserved gardens, woodlands, a waterfall, a Japanese garden, a gallery, a train and hundreds of different plants and trees. There’s so much to explore! We walked in the rain, ran over the bridge (several times), threw some pine cones, sat under the trees and visited the Boddy House Museum. The cherry trees were blooming and it smelled amazing. It was so lush and green, I couldn’t believe we were still in LA!
Our son had the best time exploring and playing. We made a stop for burgers and headed home for a long nap.
This is a wonderful place to take your children if you live here or if you’re visiting Los Angeles.
